The wood we use is beechwood. More than other types of wood, beechwood has excellent antibacterial properties. We use 100% silicone beads. The silicone is 100% food grade, resistant to damage, and free from harmful substances such as BPA, sulfates, and other additives. Silicone feels soft and smooth. It is also one of the few materials that is fully recyclable — which means less waste and a longer lifespan.

For babies, the world is still mostly a black-and-white film. They cannot see real colors yet, but they do see differences in shades, so their vision consists of greys. Between 4 to 6 weeks, babies begin to distinguish basic colors. Babies love contrasts — the stronger the contrast, the more interesting. This is why we work with color contrasts.

Care instructions Allowed:

• • Silicone can be cleaned with water and mild soap.
  • Beechwood can be wiped with a damp cloth and airdried.
  • A baby wipe works well too ;) Not allowed:
  • Chewies and Clips must never be boiled.
  • Chewies and Clips must never be put in a sterilizer.
  • Chewies and Clips must never go into the dishwasher.

With the FSC certification, you can be sure that our wood comes from responsibly managed forests. All our Chewies are tested and certified according to the European toy standard EN71 and are handmade by us in the Netherlands. We also comply with EU Directive 2009/48/EC, so our products are safe. The CE marking means that our products meet all legal requirements.
