What Is White Noise and Why Is It Beneficial for Sleep?

White noise is created by evenly combining all audible frequencies humans can hear at the same intensity, producing a steady sound with no specific pitch. It may sound like a fuzzy, humming, static-like, or hissing noise.

White noise helps mask background sounds in the sleep environment that can be distracting or disruptive when falling asleep or staying asleep.

For infants, white, pink, or brown noise can also act as a sleep cue, helping to calm and soothe through familiar sounds. When used safely, white noise is suitable from birth as part of your sleep-settling toolkit.

Unparalleled Portability

With an impressive 48 hours of battery life on a single charge*, Drift Away is ready for wherever your day, night, or weekend takes you.

Lightweight and compact, it slips easily into a nappy bag, pram basket, handbag, overnight bag, or overhead locker — for soothing sleep anywhere.

Built-In Soft Light

The built-in soft LED light features three settings, making it practical for overnight nappy changes, feeding, or finding baby’s lost dummy.
